class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<h2>OECD Working Party on Artificial Intelligence Governance (AIGO)\u00a0<\/h2><p><strong>The OECD\u2019s\u00a0Committee on Digital Economy Policy<\/strong>\u00a0created the\u00a0<strong>Working Party on Artificial Intelligence Governance<\/strong>\u00a0(AIGO) to oversee its work on artificial intelligence (AI) policy. Working party members are nominated by OECD member governments and are primarily national officials responsible for AI policies in their perspective countries.<\/p><p>The working party develops practical guidance for policy makers on a wide array of topics:<\/p><ul><li>investing in AI R&amp;D;<\/li><li>data, infrastructure, software &amp; knowledge;<\/li><li>regulation, testbeds and documentation;<\/li><li>skills and labour markets; and<\/li><li>international co-operation.<\/li><li>\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><p>It leverages lessons learned and analysis by other OECD bodies and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oecd.ai\/dashboards\">database of national AI policies at OECD.AI<\/a>. The working party focuses on the practical implementation of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oecd.ai\/ai-principles\">OECD AI Principles<\/a>\u00a0throughout the AI policy cycle for:<\/p><ol type=\"i\"><li>Policy design \u2013 review national AI governance policies and approaches;<\/li><li>Policy implementation \u2013 look for lessons in national implementation examples;<\/li><li>Policy intelligence \u2013 identify evaluation methods and monitoring exercises; and<\/li><li>Policy coordination \u2013 find approaches to international and multi-stakeholder cooperation on AI policy.<\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-size: 1rem;\">The working party also provides analysis and good practices to inform policy on\u00a0<\/span><em style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-size: 1rem;\">i)\u00a0<\/em><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-size: 1rem;\">AI sandboxes and\u00a0<\/span><em style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-size: 1rem;\">ii)\u00a0<\/em><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-size: 1rem;\">natural language technologies.<\/span><\/p><p>Its work builds on the work on the OECD.AI expert group on national AI Policies that operated from February 2020 to March 2022 and published the OECD\u00a0\u201c<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oecd-ilibrary.org\/docserver\/1cd40c44-en.pdf?expires=1626780614&amp;id=id&amp;accname=ocid84004878&amp;checksum=CE4DE06BD5240DB322EC2914C29BD2E9\">State of Implementation of the OECD AI Principles: Insights from National AI Policies<\/a><\/em>\u201d\u00a0 report on 22 June 2021. This report looks at how countries are implementing the five recommendations to governments contained in the OECD AI Principles and examines emerging trends in AI policy.<\/p><h2><strong>OECD.AI Network of Experts<\/strong><\/h2><p><strong>The OECD.AI Network of Experts<\/strong>\u00a0works with the working party as an informal group of AI experts from government, business, academia and civil society. The network provides AI-specific policy advice for the OECD\u2019s work on AI policy and contributes to the\u00a0OECD Policy Observatory on AI,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/oecd.ai\/\">OECD.AI<\/a>.<\/p><p>The network provides the OECD with an \u201con the ground\u201d perspective on AI and is a forum where the OECD can share information with other international initiatives and organisations. The network raises issues about trustworthy AI and other policy initiatives with the OECD, particularly when international cooperation is useful. As of September 2022, the Network comprises three expert groups:<\/p><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/oecd.ai\/en\/network-of-experts\/working-group\/1137\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Expert Group on Classification &amp; Risk<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/oecd.ai\/en\/network-of-experts\/working-group\/1138\">Expert Group on Tools &amp; Accountability<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/oecd.ai\/en\/network-of-experts\/working-group\/1136\">Expert Group on Compute and Climate\u00a0<\/a><\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The network provides a space for the international community to have in-depth discussions about shared AI policy opportunities and challenges.<\/p><p>Part of the OECD\u2019s mission to raise awareness around implementing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oecd.ai\/ai-principles\">the OECD AI Principles<\/a>\u00a0is to ensure that open dialogue shapes trustworthy AI. To create a wider public dialogue, the OECD has\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/oecd.ai\/wonk\"><strong>the AI Wonk<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0blog, where AI experts can present current issues.<\/p><h3><strong>Network\u00a0members<\/strong><\/h3><p>The network brings together AI experts from many sectors and backgrounds including:<\/p><ul><li><strong>AI policy experts<\/strong>\u00a0from national governments, international organisations, other institutions and the private sector.
